Adsorption Technician (Experimental Systems & Testing)
About the Role
novoMOF is hiring an Adsorption Technician to support the experimental validation of advanced MOF-based separation processes. This role is central to our R&D and product development efforts, with a focus on designing, building, and operating custom adsorption rigs, conducting breakthrough experiments, and evaluating material performance under realistic industrial conditions — including high pressure and humid environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with our materials and modelling teams to generate high-quality experimental data and contribute to the development of cutting-edge carbon capture systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate experimental rigs for gas adsorption and separation studies.
- Perform dynamic breakthrough experiments.
- Conduct long-term cycling tests (adsorption/desorption) to evaluate MOF material stability and performance.
- Collaborate with process modellers to correlate experimental data with simulation results.
- Ensure accurate data recording, analysis, and documentation in line with internal QA procedures.
- Support installation, calibration, and maintenance of lab-scale adsorption equipment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of experimental protocols and safety procedures.
Key Skills & Experience
- Technical degree or professional certification in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on experience in gas adsorption systems or process development laboratories.
- Familiarity with vacuum systems, pressure regulation, flow controllers, and gas analysis equipment.
- Proven ability to design and operate lab-scale experimental setups.
- Strong analytical mindset with a commitment to safety and precision.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional R&D environment.
- Comfortable working with hazardous gases and managing experimental risk.
Why Join Us?
novoMOF is a Swiss deep tech company pioneering cost-effective, high-performance, and environmentally sustainable MOFs (Metal-Organic Frameworks) for carbon capture across industrial processes, energy production, maritime, transport, and more.
As part of our team, you’ll work at the cutting edge of materials innovation and sustainable process design. You’ll have the opportunity to shape next-generation adsorption systems with real-world climate impact — in a dynamic, collaborative, and mission-driven environment.
